Up early for a boat cruise through the vibrant riverside market, experiencing the lively atmosphere with a variety of sights, sounds, and smells. Cruise through a floating village where fish are farmed under shelters on the Bassac River. Explore the Long Xuyen quadrilateral region, famous for being the rice basket of the Mekong Delta, on bikes along backroads for an easy first day of riding (25-40 kms), with stops for photos and breaks. Have lunch in Long Xuyen city, taste local foods guided by our expert, and take a short rest en route to a new cable-stayed bridge over the Bassac River via van. Later, when the temperature cools down, ride bikes to Lai Vung, following flat scenic roads (25 km) through villages, and visit the over 100-year-old carpet mat weaving village of Dinh Yen. Delve deeper into the beauty and lesser-known areas of the Mekong, with fewer tourists. Transfer by van to Vinh Long city, cross a ferry to Binh Hoa Phuoc island for an overnight stay in an authentic local homestay. Remember to pack essentials in a small backpack for the night there!

We board the boat for a cruise, crossing from Binh Hoa Phuoc island to the mighty Mekong River. Sailing along is an interesting activity as we pass waterfront villages and the bustling Cai Be floating market. We visit a coconut candy factory and a puffed rice factory to see the local production process. Afterward, we embark on a leisurely cycling journey on small paths under the green canopy along water bodies, through local villages and canals, to explore orchards and the daily lives of farmers. Along the way, we make several stops to enjoy seasonal fruits from tropical plantations like rambutans, durian, longan, jackfruit, and more, which taste best when freshly picked! Cycling a distance of 25 km, we then get picked up by a van and transferred to My Tho for lunch, where vegetarian restaurants are highly recommended. Our next destination is the Long An area, known for its large red-flesh dragon fruit plantations and expansive rice fields. Back on our bikes, we ride along small routes lined with dragon fruit farms and rice paddies (15-22 km). Our guide explains how farmers tend to their dragon fruit farms and manage the cacti trees alongside their agricultural rice fields. This is a great opportunity to taste fresh fruits right off the trees and ride along the pathways of the rice fields as the sun sets, accompanied by the sound of frogs. After a fulfilling day exploring the delta, we enjoy a refreshing beer and snacks before heading back to Saigon, marking the end of our tour.

22 May 2024 ★★★★★Our recent trip to China and Mongolia was a great success. Overall we found Absolute Asia Tours services to be excellent throughout the two weeks we were in Asia. For us, Mongolia was definitely the highlight. We thoroughly enjoyed or local guides and drives and they were unfailingly knowledgeable, helpful and amusing. Their languages skills were excellent and we felt that we recieved real insight into this fascinating country. We were intinially drawn to the idea of this trip by the reports of the world class fihing and we were absolutely not disappointed. The fishing guide was first rate and we caught more fish than we could have hoped for - more than 25 each day - with the added bonus of being the only other people in sight for miles arround. AAT created a private ger camp for us on the Onon River and we enjoyed delicious food prepared by our chef in a beautiful unspoled atmosphere. They alo arranged for us to visit a nomadic family and spend time with them at home and organized a dinner with an anthropologist with expert knowledge of the region. AAT fullfilled their promise to tkae us to us to one of the world's best fishing destinations in comfort and style. We would be happy to travel with AAT again and will definitely recommend them to our friends.

17 January 2024 ★★★★★Absolute Asia tours gave us a wonderful tour of Southeast Asia (working with sister-agency My Way Travel based in Vietnam). For our Siem Reap/Angkor Wat journey, our party of two had a private driver and guide named Jak, who was a cheerful and knowledgeable companion, explaining the history, culture, architecture and religious significance of the sites while keeping it always fun. We moved efficiently from site to site, and finished with a boat tour of the fishing village on stilts at Kampong Pluk on the Tonle Sap Lake. During most of our trip we stayed at top-notch locally-owned hotels, but in Siem Reap we were at the excellent local Hyatt hotel. Absolute Asia and My Way Travel our outstanding local providers, less expensive than name-brand group tours, and customized to our interests and schedule.
