In the morning, embark on a half-day trekking adventure through the coiling rice fields of the Longji Rice Terraces. Climb the famous “Dragon’s Backbone” summit and savour views of China’s most spectacular farming landscapes forged by locals more than 700 years ago.
Lunch at Longsheng local restaurant. Later, bask in the aroma of rice, vegetable and tea plantations as you scale the succession of lush staircases, cascading their way through the mountains. In the afternoon, visit the remote settlements of Zhongliu and Tiantouzhai, perched on top of a mountain. Take in some of the best panoramas of the surrounding region before heading to Yangshuo, around 160km (3 hours) away. Spend the night in Yangshuo.
*Note: The Longji Rice Terraces are saturated with water during May and throughout summer. Option 1: Start your adventure at 9:00am and head towards the village of Baisha, located 10km away and set along the tranquil waters of the Yulong River (Jade Dragon River). Snap some photos at the picturesque, 400-year old Yulong Bridge, before skirt-ing the riverbanks lined with mandarin, orange and chestnut trees. In the morning, head to the climbing school to grab your equipment before beginning an exciting day of outdoor activities, including climbing and river kayaking.
For climbing, choose between varying levels of difficulty:
Swiss Cheese Wall (Beginner): This easy to reach wall is accessible to both beginners and experienced climbers, making it one of the most popular climbs in the area. It is ideal for families or group climbs, comprised of two sections: a wall for beginners and an adjoining section for those wanting a challenge. A serene bamboo grove also provides a welcome source of shade in the harsher summer months.
The Egg (Advanced): With four adjoining rock faces, the egg pro-vides a series of challenging surfaces for advanced or experienced climbers. As the sun moves, climbers can shift to a different side to shield themselves from the summer heat.
White Mountain (Experienced): A superb climbing surface that will satisfy even the most experienced climbers, with a difficulty level ranging from 5.10 to 5.13 (Yosemite Decimal System). While some incline paths allow for climbs even during rain, exposure to the sun is constant throughout the day, meaning dusk or morning climbs are recommended. Thrill-seekers may find the wall’s 200m section of 15% incline appealing, rising up to 60m above the ground.

Take in the breath-taking views of the surrounding mountainside and river-front villages before joining the current of the famous Li River. 9 May 2024 ★★★★★Our 2-week trip to Thailand was fantastic! Chiang Mai felt completely magical and Koh Samui was beautiful. We managed to have fun even on the rainy days. Our guides were perfect, very knowledgeable and a lot of fun, with great insights into the local culture. I've been recommending Absolute Asia Tours to all my friends and I can't wait to travel with you guys again! The coordination of everything was very well done.

22 May 2024 ★★★★★Our recent trip to China and Mongolia was a great success. Overall we found Absolute Asia Tours services to be excellent throughout the two weeks we were in Asia. For us, Mongolia was definitely the highlight. We thoroughly enjoyed or local guides and drives and they were unfailingly knowledgeable, helpful and amusing. Their languages skills were excellent and we felt that we recieved real insight into this fascinating country. We were intinially drawn to the idea of this trip by the reports of the world class fihing and we were absolutely not disappointed. The fishing guide was first rate and we caught more fish than we could have hoped for - more than 25 each day - with the added bonus of being the only other people in sight for miles arround. AAT created a private ger camp for us on the Onon River and we enjoyed delicious food prepared by our chef in a beautiful unspoled atmosphere. They alo arranged for us to visit a nomadic family and spend time with them at home and organized a dinner with an anthropologist with expert knowledge of the region. AAT fullfilled their promise to tkae us to us to one of the world's best fishing destinations in comfort and style. We would be happy to travel with AAT again and will definitely recommend them to our friends.

17 January 2024 ★★★★★Absolute Asia tours gave us a wonderful tour of Southeast Asia (working with sister-agency My Way Travel based in Vietnam). For our Siem Reap/Angkor Wat journey, our party of two had a private driver and guide named Jak, who was a cheerful and knowledgeable companion, explaining the history, culture, architecture and religious significance of the sites while keeping it always fun. We moved efficiently from site to site, and finished with a boat tour of the fishing village on stilts at Kampong Pluk on the Tonle Sap Lake. During most of our trip we stayed at top-notch locally-owned hotels, but in Siem Reap we were at the excellent local Hyatt hotel. Absolute Asia and My Way Travel our outstanding local providers, less expensive than name-brand group tours, and customized to our interests and schedule.
