For the best snorkeling, visit the nearby Ang Thong National Marine Park, famous from the movie The Beach. This beautiful park consists of 42 islands featuring limestone cliffs, lush forests, and clear waters. While Koh Samui itself isn’t known for diving, nearby islands like Koh Tao have excellent underwater life, including vibrant coral reefs, turtles, and even whale sharks at certain times of the year.

• When to Visit Koh Samui island, Thailand

Koh Samui avoids the worst of the monsoon season, with heavy rains mainly from October to mid-December. The best time to visit is from June to August, although this is also the busiest time. Enjoy the tropical charm of Koh Samui any time outside these months!
