Bali Adventure: Dolphins, Volcanoes & Temples

Start your day with an early trip to Bedugul to visit the Bedugul Botanical Gardens. Take a leisurely stroll through its peaceful gardens and unwind under the tall trees while experiencing the shift in temperature from the cool morning mist to the warm Balinese sun. Next, make a brief stop at Candi Kuning, the traditional fruit and vegetable markets, to pick up some fresh local produce. Then, dine at a nearby local restaurant, enjoying traditional Balinese dishes while admiring breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges and lakes. Afterwards, head downhill to visit the Ulun Danu Water Temple, situated right by the water’s edge. Take some time to explore this beautiful temple, known as one of the most photographed temples in Bali. Then, get ready for a short hike down the hillside steps to the scenic Git Git Waterfall. Relax and feel refreshed by the cool spray of the water before returning to the car. Finally, drive straight along Bali’s northern coast to reach Lovina Beach.

Wake up early before the sun and prepare to go out to sea for an exciting morning of dolphin watching. Witness up to five species of native dolphins leaping from the water against the stunning backdrop of an orange sunrise before returning to your hotel for breakfast. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing at your hotel with a soothing one-hour traditional Balinese massage.

In the morning, travel by car along the northern coastline to Mimpi Banjar. There, pick up your snorkeling gear before taking a short boat ride to Menjangan Island. With the help of your local guide, discover the island’s vibrant reefs and beautiful turquoise waters, known as some of the finest in the area. After returning to the mainland, continue your journey through the coastal region of Seririt towards Banjar Hot Springs. Rejuvenate yourself with a relaxing soak in the warm waters, believed by locals to contain a beneficial mix of natural nutrients and minerals. Finally, return to your accommodation to spend the night in Lovina.

After breakfast, travel to Kintamani with a quick stop at Pura Beji, also known as Beji Temple. Built in the 15th century, this subak temple is one of the oldest temples on the island. Next, visit Pura Puncak Penulisan in Bangli Regency. Perched atop Penulisan Mountain (1745m), it is Bali’s highest temple, featuring 336 steps leading to the summit. Explore the temple grounds, and if you choose, climb to the top for breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Finally, return to your hotel in Lovina for the night.

After breakfast, take a 15-minute boat ride across Lake Batur, created by the volcanic caldera of Mount Batur. Arrive in Trunyan and explore the village inhabited by the ‘Bali Aga’, Bali’s oldest ethnic group. Discover the fascinating burial rituals of the Bali Aga, where the deceased are placed in ravines just outside the village. In the afternoon, return to Kintamani to visit the hot springs before enjoying the rest of the afternoon at your leisure.

Begin your day early with a climb up Mount Batur, one of Bali’s active volcanoes. Reach the summit to witness a breathtaking sunrise illuminating the picturesque mountain area. Have a light breakfast at the top before descending to the mountain’s base. Return to South Bali to spend the night.

In the morning, enjoy the day at your own pace before your driver picks you up for your trip to the airport. Note: During the rainy season, it’s best to avoid the Mount Batur Trek for safety reasons.
