Take a Ride on the Panorama Langkawi Cable Car & SkyBridge
Take a ride on one of the world’s steepest cable cars that takes you above the treetops to the summit of Mount Machinchang. Don’t forget to take a stroll on the SkyBridge and enjoy the view. The area also provides a number of activities such as quad biking, nature trails, 3D art museum and treats at the SkyBistro.
Kayak Through Kilim Geoforest Park
Kilim Geoforest Park is a UNESCO-listed park. Kayaking through the park is the best way to get the unique experience of paddling through mangrove forests, limestone caves, and hidden lagoons while keeping an eye out for sea eagles, otters, kingfishers, and swimming macaques.
Cycle Through Paddy Fields and Villages
If you find yourself in Langkawi, experience the rural atmosphere of the island by cycling past emerald-green rice paddies and rubber plantations. Step off the beaten path and explore traditional villages (kampungs), meet locals, and get a glimpse of daily life that has gone on for generations.
Hike to Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls
After a long day of rest and relaxation, climb up the 605 steps to “Seven Wells” waterfalls where seven natural pools cascade down the side of Mount Machinchang. Take a dip in the pools and enjoy panoramic views over Burau Bay and Pantai Kok. Be on the lookout for wildlife along your day that could include macaques, hornbills, and giant squirrels.
Island Hopping Adventures
Jump on a boat to explore a few of the amazing islands surrounding Langkawi. Snorkel and swim at Beras Basah Island then take your adventure to the iconic Pregnant Maiden Island, also known as Dayang Bunting, home of a lake with mystical freshwater. Each island offers their own exotic paradise experience as well as local myths and lore.
Visit Laman Padi Rice Garden Museum
At the Laman Padi Rice Garden Museum located in Pantai Cenang, you can learn about Malaysia’s culture and heritage with rice. If it is in the interest of your group, you can try your best at planting rice seedlings in paddy fields, explore herb gardens, and go to the Paddy Gallery to take in some amazing views.
Golf at The Els Club Teluk Datai
The Els Club Teluk Datai is a world-class golf course designed by Ernie Els. Located on the edge of the rainforest and the Andaman Sea, the golf course’s 18 holes are ingeniously designed with names of local wildlife found on the island. Each hole has its own unique features set in true tropical paradise. The main open-air clubhouse provides a relaxing atmosphere for you to unwind after the day’s round of golf.
Best time to visit Langkawi is during the high season from November to April for sunny and dry weather that is great for beach days and outdoor activities and adventure. The wet season is from May to July when afternoon showers are normal, and August to October is the rainy season with heavier downpours while having fewer travellers.
