Absolute Asia/South Korea/South Korea Tour Packages: Seoul, Busan, Jeju and the Best Season (2026)
South Korea Tour Packages: Seoul, Busan, Jeju and the Best Season (2026)
Choosing a South Korea tour package? Routes for 7 to 12 days across Seoul, Gyeongju, Busan, Jeju and Jeonju, the best seasons, and 2026 entry steps for US travelers (K-ETA exemption, arrival card).
South Korea packs a futuristic capital, royal palaces, a surf-and-seafood port city and a volcanic island into a country you can cross by bullet train in a few hours. A good South Korea tour package connects these without wasted days. Here is how to compare options.
Routes that work
7 days: Seoul and Busan
Four nights in Seoul (palaces, Bukchon, markets, the DMZ on a guided day), then the KTX high-speed train to Busan for beaches, temples and fresh seafood. Start with our things to do in Seoul guide.
10 days: add Jeju or Gyeongju
Add a flight to Jeju for volcanic scenery and hiking (see Jeju Island), or Gyeongju for ancient Silla tombs and temples.
12 days: add food and tradition
Stop in Jeonju for the Hanok Village and bibimbap, covered in our Jeonju guide, and a temple stay in the mountains.
What to look for in a package
- Hotels in walkable areas of Seoul (Jongno, Myeongdong, Hongdae) rather than only chain towers.
- Train and flight transfers already arranged, with luggage logistics.
- Guided days where context matters: palaces, the DMZ and food tours.
- Extras: hanbok rental, a cooking class, a templestay or a K-culture day.
Best time to go
April to May (spring blossoms) and late September to early November (autumn color) are the best seasons. July brings the monsoon, summers can be humid and winters are cold, though Seoul in snow is lovely. Avoid Lunar New Year and Chuseok if you want quieter streets and lower prices on hotels. Entry for US travelers in 2026
- K-ETA: South Korea has extended its exemption from the K-ETA electronic travel authorization to 31 December 2026 for 22 countries, including the US. Confirm before booking, since the exemption is temporary.
- e-Arrival Card: from 1 January 2026, all foreign visitors complete an online arrival card within three days before arriving.
- Official sites only: use the official government sites; look-alike sites charge extra.
