The Nam Hai occupies a long stretch of Ha My Beach between Hoi An and Da Nang, and its architecture is the reason people remember it: villas raised on platforms, three tiers of reflecting pools stepping down toward the sea, and a single raised bed-and-daybed plinth inside each one rather than conventional rooms.
It works well as a base rather than a retreat. Hoi An’s lantern-lit old town is a short drive away, My Son is reachable in a morning, and Da Nang airport is close enough to make it an easy start or finish to a Vietnam itinerary.
