Con Dao is still one of the least-visited corners of Vietnam – sixteen islands off the southern coast, most of them national park, reached by a short flight from Ho Chi Minh City. Six Senses Con Dao runs the length of Dat Doc Beach, every villa facing the water with its own pool.
The island carries real history alongside the beach: the colonial-era prison complex is open to visitors and worth the morning it takes. Between June and September, green turtles nest on the outer islands, and the resort runs trips out with park rangers.
