Mai Khao is Phuket’s longest and least developed beach, protected as part of Sirinat National Park at its northern end. Anantara’s villas here are set back around a series of lagoons, each walled with its own pool and outdoor sala.

It is the quiet side of the island – no bar strip, no crowds on the sand – and it is close to the airport, which makes it an easy first or last stop. Phang Nga Bay day trips leave from the piers a short drive south.
