Banyan Tree Phuket was the first of the brand’s all-pool-villa resorts, and it sits inside Laguna Phuket on Bang Tao Bay – a stretch of coast that was a worked-out tin mine before it was replanted and flooded into lagoons. The villas are single-story and walled, each with its own pool and garden.

Guests can use the facilities across the wider Laguna complex, including the golf course, and Bang Tao’s long beach is a few minutes away by buggy or shuttle boat.
