Koh Kood is the last Thai island before Cambodia, and Soneva Kiri effectively has it to itself. Guests fly from Bangkok on the resort’s own aircraft to a private airstrip, then cross by boat. Villas are large, timber-built and set in jungle running down to the water.
The signature is the Treepod – a bamboo pod hoisted into the canopy with a waiter arriving by zipline – but the substance is the quiet: clear water, empty beaches, an observatory, and no strip of bars anywhere on the island.
