Andara sits on the hillside above Kamala Bay, and the layout is closer to a set of private residences than a resort: pool villas and apartment-style suites with full kitchens, terraces and living rooms, staggered so almost every one looks down the coast.

The kitchens matter for longer stays and for families – a chef can be arranged in the villa, and the beach club below handles the rest. Phuket’s west-coast beaches and Old Town are both an easy drive.
